Fubara Tinubu peace deal under scrutiny as Ann-Kio Briggs demands transparency

Niger Delta rights activist Ann-Kio Briggs has demanded disclosure of the peace terms between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and President Tinubu, which ended six months of emergency rule in Rivers State.

Briggs said Rivers residents risk losing faith in their governor if agreements remain secret.

“It’s like shaving the head of someone behind their back,” she told Channels TV.

Rivers Crisis and Political Deals

Fubara returned to office last week after suspension under emergency rule. Tinubu brokered reconciliation between Fubara and FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, but terms remain undisclosed.
