Amusan Returns to Competition
Tobi Amusan will return to action at the Prefontaine Classic on July 4. The race will take place at Hayward Field. It marks her first appearance since the World Championships in September 2025.
A Strong Field Awaits
Amusan will face Olympic champion Masai Russell, Danielle Williams, and Grace Stark. Russell enters the race in top form after winning Olympic gold in Paris. She also set a meeting record of 12.19 seconds in Silesia.

Stark also comes in strong form after an impressive 2025 season. She set records in Keqiao, Stockholm, and Paris. She later won bronze at the World Championships in Tokyo.
Williams adds experience to the field. The Jamaican won her second world title in 2023. She remains one of the most consistent athletes in the event.
History at Hayward Field
Amusan has strong history at Hayward Field. She set a world record of 12.12 seconds at the 2022 World Championships. She returned in 2023 and won the Diamond League title.

She also won three straight Diamond League titles from 2021 to 2023. Her return to this track will draw attention.
Diamond League Season Overview
The Prefontaine Classic is the ninth stop of the Diamond League season. The 2026 season starts in Doha on May 8. It will move across 15 cities before ending in Brussels in September.
