NDLEA Reports Recovery of 200 Cocaine Wraps From Two Abuja Airport Passengers

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency says it recovered 200 wraps of cocaine weighing 3.46 kilogrammes from two Paris-bound passengers arrested at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

The agency identified the suspects as Aliocus Godian Odife and Sam Blackborn. They were intercepted on October 28 during outward clearance for Air France flight AF 832, according to a statement issued on November 1 by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi.

The NDLEA said body scans indicated that the men had ingested foreign objects. It said both subsequently excreted the wraps under observation and that the recovered substances tested positive for cocaine.

Breakdown of the Recoveries

According to the agency, Odife excreted 110 wraps weighing 1.901kg, while Blackborn excreted 90 wraps weighing 1.559kg.

The agency said both men told investigators they had swallowed the wraps. The individual quantities total 200 wraps weighing 3.460kg.

The NDLEA described the men as Nigerians based in Europe who had returned home for holidays. It said Odife reported living in France, where he worked in a factory, and had arrived in Nigeria on October 21.
