Chelsea Cruise Past Djurgarden to Book UEFA Conference League Final Spot

Chelsea FC are through to the UEFA Conference League final, brushing aside Swedish side Djurgarden IF with a composed 1-0 win at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night — sealing a 5-1 aggregate scoreline over both legs.

While the first-leg demolition in Sweden gave the Blues breathing space, the second leg in London was all about control, rotation, and blooding the future.

“We got the job done,” manager Enzo Maresca said post-match. “Now we’re one step from silverware and a European finish.”

Chelsea dominated possession from the start but were patient in breaking down a compact Djurgarden. After some early half-chances, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall broke the deadlock with a driven shot off the post to make it 1-0 before halftime.

That strike effectively ended the tie as a contest. Djurgarden created a few nervous moments, but Chelsea’s Filip Jorgensen stayed alert to deny a deflected effort from Keita Kosugi.

👶 Reggie Walsh Makes History

A special moment came as 16-year-old academy product Reggie Walsh made his first senior start — becoming the youngest player to ever start a European match for Chelsea.

“He’s got confidence and awareness. Big future ahead,” Maresca praised.

🏆 One Win from Glory

Chelsea will now play the final in Wroclaw, Poland, against either Real Betis or Fiorentina.

The Blues are currently on a five-match winning streak in all competitions, and with Champions League qualification still mathematically possible, a Conference League title could mark a stunning finish to a rollercoaster season.

🧭 Djurgarden’s Journey Ends

For Djurgarden, the loss ends what has been a memorable European campaign. Despite crashing out, the Swedish side impressed fans and neutrals alike with their fighting spirit and creative style.

From London to Wroclaw — Chelsea march on with a trophy in sight, momentum in their stride, and new stars emerging.
