Man United Smash Athletic to Reach Europa League Final Unbeaten

By IDNN European Nights Desk

Manchester United delivered their most ruthless European performance yet, dismantling Athletic Club 4-1 at Old Trafford to storm into the UEFA Europa League final with a staggering 7-1 aggregate scoreline.

Mason Mount, back from injury and hunger in his eyes, grabbed a brace. Casemiro, Hojlund, and Bruno Fernandes also shone as United extended their undefeated run in Europe to 12 matches.

“This was the standard we’ve been searching for,” said manager Ruben Amorim, who has transformed United’s European identity this season.

⚡ Early Scare, Ruthless Response

Athletic threatened first. Mikel Jauregizar stunned the Theatre of Dreams with a top-corner screamer that put the visitors 1-0 up on the night.

But that only woke United up.

Mount equalised with a sharp turn-and-finish before Casemiro headed in Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick to flip the game. Garnacho, Diallo, and Mount tormented the Spanish side until the final whistle.

“We’re not done yet,” Mount declared. “Finals are for lifting trophies.”

🏟️ All-English Final Awaits

United now face Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final — a clash guaranteed to bring fireworks and an English winner.

For United, this final is more than just silverware — it’s salvation for a topsy-turvy domestic campaign.

Unbeaten, untouchable, unafraid — Manchester United are one win away from Europa League glory and continental redemption.
