Abuja — The political cold war between former Rivers State Governors Nyesom Wike and Rotimi Amaechi has exploded into fresh verbal warfare.

In a no-holds-barred media briefing on Monday, FCT Minister Wike took aim at Amaechi, branding him a “serial betrayer who is hungry not for food, but for power.”

“He is desperate to stay relevant, but the people know better now,” Wike said.

Trigger: Amaechi’s Recent Political Criticisms

Wike’s attack appears to be a direct response to recent statements by Amaechi accusing unnamed leaders of “betraying the party and the state.”

Wike hit back, saying:

“He betrayed Goodluck Jonathan, and now he talks about betrayal? Please.”

The minister questioned Amaechi’s political capital in Rivers, suggesting that he can no longer mobilize grassroots support.

“He couldn’t even win his ward in the last election. He has lost his structure.”

No Love Lost, No Backtracking

Wike declared he has no intention of making peace with Amaechi, who he said continues to “manipulate young politicians” for selfish ambition.

“He wants loyalty without trust, submission without mutual respect.”

The FCT Minister said the Rivers APC is crumbling because of Amaechi’s ego and top-down control.
