Deborah Abiodun’s 2026 club season is over after Washington Spirit moved the Super Falcons midfielder to its season-ending injury list, bringing an abrupt stop to a campaign already interrupted by a hip problem.
The NWSL club confirmed that Abiodun will undergo surgery after first placing her on its 45-day injury list on September 4. Washington Spirit identified the problem as a hip injury and said she would continue rehabilitation with the club’s medical and performance staff.
