Super Falcons to Face Ghana in WAFCON Friendly as Morocco Camp Builds

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will face Ghana’s Black Queens in a WAFCON build-up friendly in Casablanca as their final preparation phase intensifies ahead of the 14th Women AFCON finals in Morocco.

The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the friendly will take place at Stade el Arbi Zaouli, with kick-off set for 4pm, as Nigeria continue their tournament build-up.

The Ghana friendly gives the Super Falcons a useful West African test before competitive action begins. It also gives the coaching staff another opportunity to assess balance, rhythm and match sharpness before Nigeria enter Group C.

CAF lists WAFCON Morocco 2026 for 26 July to 16 August, while its final draw report places defending champions Nigeria in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and Malawi.

That pathway makes every preparation signal important. The Super Falcons will need early cohesion, defensive discipline and sharper attacking rhythm if they are to turn their Morocco camp into tournament authority.

The Super Falcons’ Morocco camp has already become a key part of Nigeria’s title-defence build-up. Earlier supplied material stated that the team had opened camp in Casablanca, with focus shifting to squad readiness, training structure and the countdown to the continental tournament.

BEYOND THE SCORLINE

For Nigeria, the value of the Ghana match goes beyond the scoreline. It is a pressure check against a familiar regional opponent, a chance to test combinations and a final opportunity to sharpen decision-making before the tournament demands rise.

The Super Falcons remain one of Africa’s most watched women’s football teams, and every pre-tournament signal carries weight. Camp arrivals, friendly minutes, player fitness and tactical shape will all feed into the national conversation around whether Nigeria are ready to make another deep run.

With WAFCON approaching, the message from the camp is clear: preparation is no longer background work. It is the first test of Nigeria’s title ambition.
