Falconets Focused Ahead of Crucial Senegal Test
Nigeria’s U20 women’s team, the Falconets, has stepped up preparations for the third-round qualifying fixture against Senegal in the race for a place at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria will host the first leg of the qualifier at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Saturday, February 7. Aduku stressed the importance of securing a strong result at home before the return leg in Dakar on February 14.

Road to the Final Qualifying Round
The Falconets will travel to Ibadan on January 27 to continue preparations. The winner of the Nigeria–Senegal tie will advance to the final round of qualification.
There, they will face the winner of the Guinea-Bissau versus Malawi fixture. That final round will determine one of Africa’s four tickets to the global tournament.
Eyes on Poland 2026
The next edition of the tournament will take place in Poland from September 5 to 27. Nigeria, two-time silver medallists, hopes to return to the world stage and build on its strong history in the competition.
