The U18 side were officially scheduled to open their campaign against Tunisia on Tuesday in Group B of the 22nd African Men’s Youth Handball Championship, a tournament that will help determine Africa’s representatives at the 2027 IHF Men’s Youth World Championship.
That uncertainty over the result does not change the size of the assignment facing Nigeria.
The tournament runs from September 15 to 22 in Abidjan and brings together 14 national teams competing for the African title and qualification opportunities for the next global youth championship.
