ABUJA — Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has declared war on defamation and cyber slander after a social media influencer, Timothy Gabriel (aka Tuma), made sweeping allegations against him and his wife, Nollywood star Regina Daniels.

In a statement released by the Ned Nwoko Media Directorate, the lawmaker said the defamatory and vulgar claims made by Gabriel had crossed the line of free speech and would now face the full weight of the law.

“No democracy in the world gives freedom to defame, incite hatred, or blackmail,” Nwoko said. “Gabriel openly dared us to respond. Now, we will.”

He noted that the legal action would cover criminal defamation and civil lawsuits, backed by “overwhelming evidence” of malice, falsehood, and intent to destroy reputations.

“My legal team is already taking every step to prosecute Gabriel and his enablers. His slanderous claims about paternity, morality, and made-up ‘evidence’ are both dangerous and criminally prosecutable.”

Nwoko also issued a warning to other influencers hiding behind “activism” or “free speech”, saying the internet is not a lawless territory.

“The real trouble has only just begun — and it will be fought in court, not online,” he stated.
