Jannik Sinner Breaks Djokovic’s 10-Year Record with Commanding Miami Open Victory

Sinner Breaks Djokovic’s Record at Miami Open
Jannik Sinner has surpassed Novak Djokovic’s 10-year record for the most consecutive sets won at ATP Masters 1000 events with his 6-1, 6-4 win over Corentin Moutet at the Miami Open. This win marks his 26th consecutive set, a feat that places him above Djokovic’s previous mark of 24 consecutive sets won.

Sinner’s Consistent Dominance
The 24-year-old Italian controlled the match from the outset, taking the first set in just 22 minutes. His victory over Moutet continued his incredible run, with Sinner now aiming to complete the “Sunshine Double” by winning both Indian Wells and the Miami Open back-to-back.

“I am very happy,” Sinner said after the match. “This sport is unpredictable, so we try to keep attention as much as we can and we’ll see what is coming in the next round.”

Match Breakdown and Dominance
Sinner was dominant from the start, winning 19 of the first 26 points, and quickly claimed the first set. In the second set, Moutet showed some resistance but couldn’t hold off Sinner, who claimed his fourth break point and served his way to victory.

Next Steps for Sinner
With his victory, Sinner moves on to face American Alex Michelsen in the Round of 16. He is now on track to complete the “Sunshine Double,” a feat last achieved by Roger Federer in 2017.
