Nigeria Boxing Federation Unveils Boxers for African Boxing League

The Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF) has revealed the names of 41 boxers who will represent Nigeria at the inaugural African Boxing League starting this April. The tournament will feature pugilists from over 20 African countries, and Nigeria will have strong representation across multiple weight categories.


41 Nigerian Boxers Ready for the African Boxing League

The NBF selected 41 boxers for the competition. These athletes are spread across men’s and women’s weight categories, including 55kg, 60kg, 65kg, 70kg, and 90+kg. In the men’s category, notable boxers include Sodiq Oduniyi, Samuel Dahusi, and Raymond Abodunrin.

The women’s team includes fighters such as Ayomide Mayowa and Kadijat Ajisola, competing in categories from 51kg to 70+kg. Other key names include Sakirat Kareem and Blessing Orakwe, who are ready to showcase their skills on the continental stage.


Coaches Set to Lead Nigeria’s Boxing Team

A team of experienced coaches will guide Nigeria’s boxers. Coaches include Lasisi Mayowa, Sabo Mohammed, Tolani Balogun, and Waheed Sobaloju, among others. These coaches bring years of expertise and will help prepare the boxers for the upcoming challenges.


Training Camp Ahead of the Tournament

The NBF has confirmed that the boxers will begin their training camp later this month. This camp will focus on improving skills and ensuring readiness for the African Boxing League. The tournament will take place across various African nations, with Nigeria hosting home fixtures.
