Healthcare delivery in the nation’s capital faces paralysis as FCT resident doctors strike indefinitely from September 15.

The Association of Resident Doctors, FCTA (ARD-FCTA), said the move followed government’s failure to address demands despite a one-week warning strike.
General Secretary Dr. Agbor Affiong declared: “This action follows management’s failure to address any of our legitimate demands.”
Chairman Dr. George Ebong warned that Abuja’s 14 district and general hospitals are under immense strain. “In some hospitals, one doctor attends to over 30 patients and performs up to 10 caesarean sections. Many colleagues are on antidepressants,” he revealed.
The doctors vowed not to return until concrete steps are taken on welfare, manpower, and entitlements. The strike compounds national health tensions, coming just as NARD suspended its own five-day industrial action.
