Anambra Police Arrest 22-Year-Old Woman Over Alleged Self-Kidnap, N3m Ransom
The Anambra State Police Command says it has arrested a 22-year-old woman, Nwachukwu Chidubem Blessing, over an alleged plot to stage her own kidnapping and obtain N3 million from her family.
Police say she was traced to a room in Asaba, Delta State, and arrested on September 18 by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, after investigators reviewed the circumstances surrounding her reported abduction.
The command alleges that preliminary findings indicate she conspired with a woman identified only as Onyinye and another unidentified man to stage the kidnapping.
Those claims remain police allegations.

Family reportedly paid N3m ransom
Police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga said Blessing had been reported abducted along the Onitsha-Asaba Expressway on August 29.
According to the command, her family subsequently paid N3 million in ransom.
Police say investigators later traced her to Asaba.
