Lokogoma residents seek government intervention over damaged access road
Residents of Lokogoma in Abuja have appealed to the Federal Capital Territory Administration and Abuja Municipal Area Council to rehabilitate a damaged access road, with Pentville Estate chairman Augustine Osayande saying substantial repairs exceed the estate’s resources.
Speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria on October 29, Osayande said residents had used personal funds to repair roads serving the community. He called for an inspection and lasting rehabilitation.
Road users describe access difficulties
Commercial motorcyclist Muntari Nafiu told NAN that potholes restricted passing space, sometimes forcing drivers to wait for oncoming vehicles.
Resident Shafiu Suleiman described difficult movement during rainfall and said a small drainage channel had been constructed to redirect surface water. Motorist Mahmoud Abdussalam said the road’s condition had led to frequent vehicle repairs.
Appeal for Lokogoma road repairs
The residents urged the authorities to restore safe access and improve drainage. The reviewed NAN report contains no response from FCTA or AMAC.
