Residents want more than another temporary cleanup

Ogun government promises intervention
Ogun State Commissioner for Environment Ola Oresanya said the government would work with the community development association to find a lasting solution.
He said officials would invite the CDA to a meeting to decide how resources should be deployed.
The commissioner also said the community would be cleaned.
However, that commitment is an announced intervention, not evidence that the refuse has already been evacuated.
Delivery is now the test
For residents and traders, the next test is whether the government and community move from discussion to actual cleanup and sustained waste collection.
The accountability questions are clear: when will evacuation begin, where will residents dispose of waste afterwards, and what system will prevent another buildup?
