Ranchers Bees have secured their return to the Nigeria Premier Football League after finishing first in NNL Conference D, ending a long wait to get back into the top flight.
Promotion sealed despite defeat
The Kaduna club claimed the lone promotion ticket even though Gombe United beat them 2-0 away from home. Ranchers Bees still finished top because Jigawa Golden Stars missed their chance and lost 3-0 to Kebbi United.
That combination settled the race and sent Ranchers Bees back to elite football. The result also underlined how tight promotion battles can turn on more than one ground at the same time.

First return since relegation
This promotion marks Ranchers Bees’ first return to the top division since they dropped out at the end of the 2009-2010 season. That gap gives the achievement extra weight for a club that has waited years to get back into the NPFL.
For Ranchers Bees, promotion is the immediate reward. But it also resets the club’s position in Nigerian football and gives them a fresh chance to compete again at the highest domestic level.
Super Four next in Ikenne
Ranchers Bees will now join Sporting Lagos, Inter Lagos and Doma United in Ikenne for the NNL Super Four, where the four promoted sides will battle to determine the overall league champions.
The season still has one more stage to go. Ranchers Bees have already achieved their main target. Now they can push for a stronger finish against the other top sides heading into the 2026-2027 NPFL campaign.
