Falconets Resume Camping in April for Crucial U-20 Women’s World Cup Qualifier Against Malawi

Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team (Falconets) will begin their training camp in April as they prepare for their final-round qualifier against Malawi for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The Falconets advanced to the final qualification stage after defeating Senegal 3–1 on aggregate. In contrast, Malawi also progressed after edging Guinea-Bissau, setting up a high-stakes encounter between the two sides for a chance to qualify for the global tournament.

A top official from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the Falconets’ training camp will reopen in the first week of April. This gives the team enough time to prepare for the two-legged qualifier against Malawi.

“The Falconets should resume camping in the first week of April, as the first leg is scheduled for the first week of May,” the official said. This early preparation will ensure the team is ready for the high-pressure tie, both physically and mentally.

Moses Aduku, the head coach of the Falconets, will guide the team as they host the first leg of the qualifier against Malawi. The match will take place at a yet-to-be-announced venue in Nigeria between May 1 and 3, 2026.

The return leg will be held in Blantyre, Malawi, from May 8 to 10, 2026. The winner on aggregate will secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. Clearly, this tie will be crucial for both teams.
