Home Advantage Key in First Leg

Nigeria will host the first leg of the qualifier at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan on Saturday, February 7. Aduku stressed the importance of securing a strong result at home before the return leg in Dakar on February 14.

While avoiding bold predictions, he expressed confidence in the quality and mentality of the squad. He also described recent friendly performances as encouraging signs ahead of the encounter with Senegal.

Road to the Final Qualifying Round

The Falconets will travel to Ibadan on January 27 to continue preparations. The winner of the Nigeria–Senegal tie will advance to the final round of qualification.

There, they will face the winner of the Guinea-Bissau versus Malawi fixture. That final round will determine one of Africa’s four tickets to the global tournament.
