A heated war of words has erupted in Ogun State as Senator Gbenga Daniel accused Governor Dapo Abiodunโ€™s administration of sabotaging a federal constituency project in Sagamu.

Daniel, representing Ogun East, said the state government halted rehabilitation of the Paddy Arikawe Road โ€œfor petty politics,โ€ warning residents must not suffer from political gamesmanship.

But the Ogun government fired back. Special Adviser Kayode Akinmade branded Danielโ€™s remarks โ€œreckless and misleading,โ€ accusing him of imposing โ€œunsafe, shoddy workโ€ without due process.

Politics or Development?

Daniel insists the project is federally funded and beyond state jurisdiction. The state says the contractor ignored regulations, forcing a stop-work order. Analysts say the clash reveals deeper tensions between federal lawmakers and state executives over control of constituency projects.

Implications for Ogun Citizens

Residents worry stalled projects will worsen already dire road conditions. Civic groups warn the impasse could deny Ogun East much-needed infrastructure. With both sides entrenched, communities remain caught between power and politics.
