Remo Stars were held to a 1-1 draw by Kun Khalifat in their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday 22 clash at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasinga, Ibadan. The match saw both teams go head-to-head, with each side taking turns to dominate proceedings.

Kun Khalifat took the lead in the 6th minute through a well-taken goal from Oghenetega Ebetomame, who capitalized on a defensive lapse by Remo Stars. The Sky Blue Stars struggled to find their rhythm in the opening stages but grew into the game as the first half progressed.

Remo Stars found their equalizer in the 79th minute, courtesy of Ahmed Akinyele. The midfielder rose to the occasion to level the score with a clinical strike, bringing hope to the home fans who had witnessed their team fall behind early in the game.

REMO’S STRUGGLES CONTINUE

Despite pushing for a winner, Remo Stars could not break down Kun Khalifat’s defense in the final minutes, and the match ended in a 1-1 stalemate. The result leaves Remo Stars still in 16th position on the table, with 26 points from 22 matches.

Kun Khalifat, on the other hand, remains bottom of the NPFL table with 19 points. They will hope to improve their fortunes in their next match against Kwara United.

Speaking after the game, Remo Stars’ manager Daniel Ogunmodede expressed his disappointment with the result but remained optimistic about his team’s future. “It’s not the result we were hoping for, but we will take the point and move on,” said Ogunmodede. “We need to continue working hard and stay focused for the next match.”

For Kun Khalifat, the draw was a step in the right direction after struggling at the bottom of the league table. Coach Kun Khalifat’s head coach acknowledged the effort from his players, highlighting their determination to fight until the final whistle.
