Real Madrid Survive Celta Vigo Scare to Keep Title Hopes Alive

Guler and Mbappe Shine As Madrid Edge Celta 3-2

By IDNN Sports Desk

Real Madrid held on for a nervy 3-2 win against Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabéu, keeping their LaLiga title hopes alive with just two matches remaining in the season.

Teenage sensation Arda Guler opened the scoring with a precise left-footed strike in the 11th minute, while Kylian Mbappé, who was rested midweek, added the second with a trademark breakaway finish in the 38th.

Celta pulled one back through Jørgen Strand Larsen after a defensive lapse by Éder Militão, but Jude Bellingham restored Madrid’s two-goal cushion early in the second half with a composed finish.

A late surge from Celta saw them grab a second via a deflected free-kick in the 85th, forcing Madrid to defend desperately in the closing minutes.

🔍 El Clasico Looms

With Barcelona also winning, the result keeps Madrid just one point behind their arch-rivals ahead of next weekend’s El Clasico, which could decide the league.

Carlo Ancelotti praised his side’s mental toughness:

“We didn’t play our best in the second half, but we showed heart. Every win now is survival. El Clasico is a final.”

Madrid will need to win at the Camp Nou and hope for slip-ups in the final week to claim the title. Bellingham, Mbappe, and Vinicius Jr. are expected to start the high-stakes showdown.
