🌙 Ramadan 2026

The Discipline That Changes Nations

When the body is denied comfort, the soul is trained for command.

Ramadan does not begin with hunger. It begins with intention. In Qur’an 2:183, Allah reminds believers that fasting was prescribed so that they may attain Taqwa — consciousness, restraint, moral awareness.

Taqwa is not ritual performance.
It is private integrity.

A man who resists water in the heat of the afternoon proves something to himself: that desire can be governed. And if desire can be governed, power can be governed. And if power can be governed, nations can be governed justly.

Ramadan is a discipline academy.

Nigeria struggles not because of scarcity of talent, but because of scarcity of restraint. Ramadan trains restraint.

If hunger can be endured for Allah, corruption can be resisted for justice. If thirst can be tolerated for obedience, pressure can be resisted in public office.

Today, ask yourself:

  • What appetite controls me?
  • What habit weakens my discipline?
  • What compromise have I normalised?

Fasting is not weakness.
It is preparation.

May this first day sharpen our will — not only as worshippers, but as citizens.
