Magboro expressway crash: One reported dead

One person died in a collision involving a Mercedes-Benz C300 and a bus on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway at Magboro, Ogun State, on November 2, 2026, according to PUNCH.

The newspaper reported that personnel of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, and police officers confirmed the death to its correspondent at the scene. It also attributed a description of the incident as a hit-and-run crash to those officials.

Witness describes collision

An unnamed witness quoted by PUNCH said the occupants were travelling to a football match in two vehicles when a trailer struck the Mercedes-Benz, causing it to collide with the bus. The witness alleged that the trailer driver left the scene.

IDNN has not independently established the collision sequence or responsibility for the crash.

PUNCH’s earlier coverage described the deceased as a footballer whose identity had not been established. IDNN has not verified his name or sporting affiliation.

IDNN has not obtained the original TRACE incident record or directly confirmed the casualty figures with the responding agencies. The number of people injured and the full circumstances of the collision remain unverified.
