Labour Party Implodes: Otti Blasts Abure, Demands Proof or Silence

“Show Proof or Shut Up”: Otti’s Camp Blasts Labour Party Chairman Julius Abure Amid Escalating Crisis

✍️ By: IDNN Politics Desk

The internal war tearing the Labour Party (LP) apart has intensified, with Governor Alex Otti’s camp publicly accusing suspended National Chairman Julius Abure of sabotage, deception, and betrayal of the party’s core ideals.

In a searing interview on Nigeria Info FM, Otti’s Special Adviser on Media, Ferdinand Ekeoma, tore into Abure, labeling him “the one destroying the Labour Party.”

“He’s betraying Nigerians, he’s betraying the party, and he’s doing it all for personal gain,” Ekeoma declared.

⚖️ THE ACCUSATIONS:

Ekeoma didn’t mince words:

  • Claimed LP had no presence in Abia State before Otti joined

  • Accused Abure of compromising LP’s integrity for selfish reasons

  • Promised to provide “concrete proof” at the appropriate time

“This man sacrificed the party’s credibility. At the right time, we’ll show you how.”

He dismissed Abure’s public demands for evidence as arrogant bluster:

“He thinks he’s dealing with kids. Let him keep boasting—we’re coming with receipts.”

BACKDROP OF A PARTY UNRAVELING:

The clash adds another layer to the Labour Party’s descent into crisis. From the Obidient Movement’s ideological fractures, to rising internal suspicion, LP’s post-2023 coalition is fraying.

Recall that Abure recently issued a bold challenge to Peter Obi and other aspirants to present proof of alleged financial wrongdoing during the 2023 elections. Today, Otti’s camp is flipping the challenge back on him.

 IDNN INSIGHT:

This isn’t just a battle of egos — it’s a battle for the soul and future of Nigeria’s most promising third force. With elections on the horizon, LP risks implosion unless it resolves its leadership and trust crisis.

The Otti-Abure war may very well shape LP’s viability in 2027 — or hasten its political extinction.
