Phoenix Suns’ Devin Booker to Be Sidelined for at Least One Week After Ankle Injury

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker will be sidelined for at least one week after his right ankle injury was sustained during Friday night’s 110-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. The team announced Booker’s status on Sunday.

Booker injured his ankle in the closing seconds of the third quarter. He stepped on the foot of Hawks center Onyeka Okongwu. Booker was watching Grayson Allen lose the ball out of bounds, and while trying to run back down the court, he collided with Okongwu, causing the injury.

Booker had an impressive performance, scoring 31 points, shooting 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. He contributed 4 rebounds and 3 assists. This season, Booker is averaging 25.4 points, 6.2 assists, and 4 rebounds, shooting 31% from three-point range.

The Suns, will be without Booker for at least a week. They are currently sitting sixth in the Western Conference with a 27-18 record. The team’s head coach Ott has been handling the first-year coaching duties for Phoenix. With Booker’s absence, that will add more pressure on the rest of the team.

JALEN GREEN’S INJURY WOES CONTINUE

In the same game against the Hawks, Phoenix also lost Jalen Green to a hamstring injury. Green, who was playing in his second game after missing 33 straight with a strained right hamstring, was only able to play for four minutes before leaving the game.

Green did not play in Sunday’s 111-102 loss to the Miami Heat after being listed as questionable on the NBA injury report before the game.
