Coco Gauff Reaches First Miami Open Semi-Final

Coco Gauff advanced to her first-ever Miami Open semi-final with a gritty 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 victory over Belinda Bencic in the quarter-finals. The 22-year-old showed tremendous resolve after a tough second set to secure a spot in the next round.

Injury Setback Didn’t Stop Gauff

After considering pulling out due to a left-arm injury sustained at Indian Wells, Gauff was determined to play in what she calls her hometown tournament. Despite the physical setbacks, her performance against Bencic showcased her strength and perseverance.

“I’m really happy and proud of myself,” said Gauff after the win. “I feel like with each match, I’m getting better. I’ve proven a lot to myself this week.” Her improvement was clear, with her consistency on the court allowing her to regain control in the decisive third set.

Gauff Will Face Karolina Muchova in Semi-Final

Next, Gauff faces Czech 13th seed Karolina Muchova, who has lost all five of her previous encounters with the American. Gauff remains focused, acknowledging Muchova’s talent but also her own determination to make it to the final.
