Osun Amotekun Says Four Operatives Handed to Police as Ile-Ife Killing Probe Continues
Osun Amotekun says four of its operatives were voluntarily handed over to police to assist the investigation into the killing of Olalekan Oyeyemi, known as Emir, at Mayfair Motor Park in Ile-Ife.
Oyeyemi was killed during violence at the motor park on September 13, 2026, prompting a police investigation and intervention by the Osun State Government.
Amotekun says the four operatives were handed over voluntarily to assist investigators.
That handover does not establish that any of the operatives participated in the killing.
Osun Police have separately confirmed that suspects were arrested in connection with the wider investigation.
However, the public police account currently available does not identify those suspects or establish whether they are the same four operatives referred to by Amotekun.
A separate report that five Amotekun operatives were arrested therefore remains unresolved and is not being treated by IDNN as a settled fact.
The active story file also does not establish that any of the four handed-over operatives has been formally charged, arraigned or found guilty.
The investigation now turns on the evidence: who was present at the motor park, what witness accounts show, what medical or forensic evidence establishes, and whether police ultimately file charges against any individual.
The handover puts operatives inside the investigation; it does not establish what role, if any, they played.
The case remains a Strategic File for IDNN because of the unresolved custody record, the involvement of a state security outfit and the need for clear police, medical and judicial documentation.
IDNN will update this report if police clarify the identity and custody status of suspects, announce charges, release investigative findings or provide further evidence.
