The match was a testament to the Golden Arrows’ resilience, especially after they were forced to play a man down for a large portion of the match. Despite the challenge, they held onto a 16–14 lead at halftime and fought off Guinea’s attempts to make a comeback. The Golden Arrows now have one final match to determine whether they will return to the IHF Men’s World Championship for the first time since 1999.
