₦50,000 NERSI relief: monthly announcement differs from indexed FAQ wording
The Federal Government’s announcement of monthly ₦50,000 NERSI payments differs from a one-off payment description retrieved in an indexed version of the programme FAQ.
Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction Minister Bernard Doro’s October 30 statement, published on the Federal Ministry of Information’s website, describes the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention as monthly support for eligible beneficiaries.
The statement also says the programme will be reviewed regularly, with beneficiaries notified before changes.
Search retrieval returns different descriptions
One indexed version of the humanitarian ministry’s programme FAQ describes one-off ₦50,000 support. Another gives the amount without specifying payment frequency.
These are different versions returned through search retrieval. They do not establish that the live webpage simultaneously displays both descriptions or that the government has changed its policy.
FIJ previously documented the difference between the minister’s monthly-payment announcement and the website’s one-off wording. That report establishes that the discrepancy had been observed earlier; it does not resolve the programme’s current payment schedule.
No application fee or agent registration
The minister’s statement says beneficiaries do not need to apply, pay a fee or register through an agent.
It describes a process in which selected beneficiaries receive a consent request from a participating financial-service provider before payment into an account or mobile wallet.
The statement also warns against sharing PINs or Bank Verification Numbers with anyone claiming to facilitate payment.
IDNN has not obtained direct ministry clarification on whether payments will recur or how long the intervention will run.
