Eight kidnap victims rescued in Kaduna joint operations, police say
Security agencies have rescued eight people abducted in Kaduna State, including an eight-year-old girl, police say.
Kaduna Police Commissioner Muhammad Rabiu said the rescues took place between October 31 and November 2, 2026. He announced the outcome at a briefing in Kaduna on Tuesday, November 3.
The victims had been abducted in Millennium City and Maraban Rido, both in Chikun Local Government Area. The report did not identify the exact rescue locations.
Joint operations target kidnapping groups
Rabiu said the operations involved the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services, police and military. The Kaduna State Government also supported the effort.
He said repeated kidnappings in Millennium City and nearby communities had raised concerns about residents’ safety.
According to the commissioner, the operations form part of ongoing efforts to identify and disrupt the groups behind the abductions. He pledged that security agencies would sustain those efforts.
More security resources announced
Rabiu also outlined additional security resources, including 30 patrol vans and eight armoured personnel carriers. IDNN has not independently confirmed whether the vehicles have been deployed.
He urged residents to report credible information about suspected criminal activity. He assured them that security agencies would treat such information confidentially.
IDNN has not independently interviewed the survivors or obtained a medical update. This report draws on published accounts of the police briefing.
