Samuel Chukwueze delivered a goal and two assists as AC Milan twice came from behind to beat Manchester United 4-2 in Wrocław, giving the Nigeria international a forceful final statement before Milan’s Serie A campaign begins.
Manchester United struck first through Harry Maguire in the second minute, putting Milan under immediate pressure.
Chukwueze supplied the response in the 37th minute, arriving at the back post to finish Gonçalo Ramos’ ball across goal and send Milan into half-time level at 1-1.
United restored their advantage after the break through Patrick Dorgu.
But Chukwueze remained central to Milan’s recovery.
In the 57th minute, he attacked down the right before providing the delivery for Alphadjo Cissè to make it 2-2.
Eleven minutes later, Chukwueze created again.
His cross from the right found Ramos, whose header put Milan ahead for the first time.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek then completed the turnaround in the 71st minute, sealing a 4-2 win.
Chukwueze becomes Milan’s attacking accelerator
The production line was emphatic:
One goal. Two assists. Direct involvement in three of Milan’s four goals.
But the Nigerian’s influence went beyond the numbers.
When Milan needed their first response, Chukwueze finished it.
When they needed another equaliser, he created it.
When momentum finally had to become control, another delivery from his right foot produced the goal that put Milan ahead.
For a player approaching the start of another club season under scrutiny for attacking minutes and output, it was exactly the kind of performance capable of pushing him deeper into the selection conversation.
United lead twice — and still lose control
Manchester United had opportunities to put the contest beyond Milan.
Maguire gave them an ideal opening, Dorgu restored their advantage early in the second half and Bruno Fernandes had a first-half penalty saved by Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani.
But Milan repeatedly found a route back.
The decisive spell came between the 57th and 71st minutes.
Cissè equalised.
Ramos put Milan ahead.
Loftus-Cheek finished the job.
Chukwueze created the first two goals in that sequence.
United had led twice.
By the end, Milan had turned the match completely.
Strong signal before Serie A begins
The timing gives the performance added weight.
The Manchester United game was Milan’s final pre-season fixture before the start of competitive league football.
For Chukwueze, that means three goal contributions against a major European opponent immediately before the real campaign begins.
Pre-season form guarantees nothing.
It does, however, create pressure around selection.
Chukwueze has ensured that Milan’s final warm-up leaves his name attached to one of the strongest attacking performances of their preparation.
