Boko Haram Resurges: 100 Dead, Governors Call for Strategy Overhaul

Over 100 people were killed in April as Boko Haram and ISWAP renew attacks across Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa states.

In response, Northeast governors are calling for a total rethink of Nigeria’s counter-insurgency playbook.

“Current strategy is reactive and clearly failing,” said Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno.

Security analysts say the jihadist resurgence follows underfunded field operations and intelligence gaps.

The presidency has yet to announce any policy shift, but defense sources confirm reinforcements are being mobilized toward the Lake Chad basin.
