China came into the contest with momentum after an emphatic opening win over New Caledonia, but Nigeria refused to fold under the pressure.
The Chinese created the clearest openings and struck the crossbar twice, yet Nigeria survived those moments and stayed competitive until the final whistle.
For the Falconets, that point mattered.
Nigeria had opened Group F with a 2-0 defeat to Spain, meaning another loss would have left their campaign under severe pressure. The draw against China keeps their route to the knockout rounds open heading into the final group fixture.
Forward Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei emerged as one of Nigeria’s most dangerous attacking outlets, but the Falconets could not find the decisive finish required to turn their improved display into three points.
