The development was confirmed by Ghana Football Association president Kurt Okraku, who said Ghana had secured the hosting rights for the 2027 edition. Ghanaian and African football outlets also reported the decision on Monday, April 27, 2026.

Ghana Gets A Major Youth Football Platform
The 2027 edition will be Ghana’s first time hosting the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations since 1999.
