Ekiti Queens Return to Ado-Ekiti, Ibom Angels’ Spectator Ban Lifted by NWFL

Ekiti Queens Return to Ado-Ekiti
The Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) has announced that Ekiti Queens will return to their home ground in Ado-Ekiti after completing a venue sanction. The sanction, which required the club to relocate their home matches to Abeokuta, followed violations of NWFL regulations concerning matchday organisation and security protocols at their home venue.

Successful Compliance and Return
Having fulfilled the league’s operational and safety requirements, the club has been granted permission to resume hosting their home fixtures in Ado-Ekiti starting from Matchday 12 of the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership season. The club is set to officially mark their return to Ado-Ekiti on Matchday 15, where they will face Southwest rivals Pacesetter Queens.

Ibom Angels’ Spectator Ban Lifted
In another development, the NWFL has also lifted the spectator restrictions previously imposed on Ibom Angels FC’s home games in Uyo. The restrictions were placed due to crowd control issues and breaches of matchday conduct regulations, which saw the club play their home fixtures behind closed doors.

Successful Review of Operations
After reviewing Ibom Angels’ matchday operations, including security and adherence to league guidelines, the NWFL has confirmed that the club has met all necessary requirements. As a result, spectators will be allowed to return to the stadium starting with their Matchday 12 fixture against Adamawa Queens on Wednesday.
