Security sources report rescue of 23 abductees in Zamfara
Security sources cited by Zagazola Makama have reported that troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA rescued 23 abducted civilians during an operation around Wuya in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The account was subsequently carried by other Nigerian news organisations.
According to that source stream, the rescued group comprised three adult males and 20 females.
The sources also said the victims had been abducted from Gummi Local Government Area and had spent about three weeks in captivity.
Those details remain source-attributed.

The security-source account says troops operating around the outskirts of Wuya encountered the abducted civilians during an operation in Anka LGA.
The same reporting says the rescued people received medical attention and other support before being reunited with their families.

The same source stream also reported a separate attempted abduction in Bungudu Local Government Area.
