Governor Hope Uzodimma has triggered fresh political calculations inside the All Progressives Congress after formally declaring his intention to contest for the Imo West Senatorial District seat in the 2027 elections.
The Uzodimma Senate ambition became official after the governor confirmed in a statement posted on his X handle that he had presented himself before the APC leadership and the party’s National Assembly Primary Election Screening Committee.
“My dear people of Imo West Senatorial District have once again called upon me to serve, and I have accepted this noble call with utmost humility, sincerity of purpose, and unwavering commitment,” Uzodimma stated.
The governor said his decision was driven by a desire to consolidate the gains of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope administration through effective legislation and quality representation at the national level.
