Portable Declares Himself a ‘Mad Man’ Amid Ogun Police Manhun

By DGR8Z News Desk

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has made a shocking claim, declaring that he is a “mad man” currently receiving treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.

His statement comes amid escalating legal troubles, as the Ogun State Police Command declared him wanted over an alleged violent attack on government officials.

The Incident: From Town Planning to Chaos

Trouble began when three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—visited Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, to conduct an enforcement exercise.

According to reports, the officials first encountered an elderly man—later identified as Portable’s father—at Odogwu Bar. When asked for the approved building plan, he informed them that Portable was unavailable.

Moments later, however, Portable allegedly stormed the scene with a firearm and a group of nine thugs, violently attacking the officials.

The Ogun police command confirmed that the town planners sustained bodily injuries but managed to escape and report the attack to the Ota Area Command, which escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID).

Authorities arrested nine of Portable’s alleged accomplices, but the singer fled and went into hiding.

Portable’s Response: “I’m a Federal Government Liability”

In a series of Instagram rants on Tuesday, Portable denied the allegations, claiming he was being targeted for political reasons. He suggested that he was set up because he wore a vest featuring the image of Senator Adeola Solomon (Yayi).

He further defended himself by revealing his history of psychiatric treatment, stating:

> “I fear government. I am a federal government liability. I’m a madman—I have medications I usually take. You can confirm from Aro Hospital; I have a card certifying me as one of their patients.”

Portable insisted that he is not a criminal, saying:

“I am from Abeokuta, and they are taking care of me there. I am not a thief. I help people without looking at their background.”

What’s Next?

With Portable still evading arrest, the Ogun State Police Command has intensified efforts to bring him to justice. Meanwhile, the singer’s latest revelations have further fueled public debate about mental health, celebrity behavior, and law enforcement in Nigeria.
