Police have reported four arrests following violence at the annual Eku Festival in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, while multiple news organisations separately report that three people were killed and several others injured.
A state-by-state operational summary attributed to Force Public Relations Officer CSP Ani Iniedu says four suspects were arrested following what police described as a clash between rival cult groups during the Eku Festival.
The police account says a locally made cut-to-size firearm and a vehicle were recovered. The Force said investigations into the cases covered by the operational summary were ongoing at the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments.
The arrests do not establish guilt, and the police account reviewed by IDNN does not say that any of the four suspects killed or injured anyone.

Punch and Vanguard independently reported that three people were killed during the September 21 festival violence.
Punch reported that several other participants were injured. Vanguard put the injury figure at five. IDNN is therefore retaining the more cautious formulation that three people were reported killed and several others injured.
The police operational account reviewed by IDNN does not provide a death or injury total.
That distinction means the police response and arrests are established separately from the reported casualty count.
