The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted a devastating series of airstrikes against Boko Haram strongholds in Borno State, destroying logistics hubs and neutralizing key insurgents ahead of the Eid celebrations.

According to NAF spokesman Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the precision bombings were carried out under Operation Hadin Kai on June 5 and 6, targeting camps in Tumbumma Baba and Chiralia within the Southern Tumbuns.

“These structures were being used for planning and supply operations. The strikes were direct hits,” Gabkwet confirmed.

Tactical Win, Strategic Message

Gabkwet said the intelligence-led airstrikes were a pre-emptive effort to disrupt planned terror attacks meant to target civilians during the Eid period.

“We’re not just reacting; we’re staying ahead. These terrorists must know there is no safe haven,” he said.

A post-strike Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the destruction of critical facilities and the elimination of multiple high-value targets.

Reinforcing National Security Objectives

NAF said the strikes were part of a broader campaign to deny terrorists freedom of action in the Lake Chad region and maintain civilian safety.

“Our priority is civilian lives. We will continue to pound any location used for logistics, training, or staging attacks,” Gabkwet stated.
