has not been independently verified by IDNN. The accounts reviewed do not establish whether the demand covered Dapo alone or other abducted travellers.

FIJ also reported appeals from other families linked to the incident, including a separate ransom demand. Its reporting drew on information and public appeals supplied by relatives.

Police confirm incident, dispute corps-member reports

Ogun police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed to PUNCH that people had been abducted along the state’s section of the road. However, he rejected reports that corps members were among those taken and said police were working on the incident.

Published accounts differ over the number abducted and their NYSC status. No NYSC confirmation resolving those descriptions was available in the material reviewed.

As of IDNN’s November 6 source check, no verified rescue or release announcement had been located. The family appeals reviewed were made on Thursday, November 5; the victims’ current circumstances remain unconfirmed.
