The Federal Character Commission has launched a new digital platform designed to improve transparency, accountability, and compliance monitoring across more than 700 Ministries, Departments and Agencies, marking a key moment in Nigeria’s ongoing governance reform efforts.
The FCC digital platform launch took place at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, bringing together senior officials from across the Executive, Legislature, and key national institutions in a show of high-level institutional backing.

Chairman of the Commission, Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, described the initiative as a defining step in repositioning the FCC’s operations for a modern governance environment.
“We are not only unveiling a digital platform, but taking a decisive step toward modernising the Commission’s communication and service delivery framework,” she said.
According to her, the platform is structured to provide a unified and accessible interface through which citizens and institutions can engage more effectively with the Commission.

The reform initiative drew endorsements from multiple levels of government, reflecting its broader national significance.
Representing First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Hajiya Laila Barau Jibril described the platform as “a bold statement of purpose” that strengthens the connection between government institutions and citizens.
Similarly, remarks delivered on behalf of Vice President Kashim Shettima highlighted the role of digital tools in promoting fairness and institutional efficiency.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, formally unveiled the platform on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, positioning it as a strategic tool for improving government performance.
“This platform will enhance transparency, improve access to information, and strengthen the Commission’s ability to deliver on its mandate of equitable representation,” he said.

The National Assembly also signalled alignment with the reform direction.
Representing the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase noted that digital platforms such as this can strengthen oversight mechanisms and ensure compliance with the principles of federal character.
“This initiative will promote equitable access to opportunities and strengthen accountability across public service institutions,” he said.
