Abuja airport security scandal

Five Nigerian security officials are set to face prosecution after investigators said they accepted bribes from former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai to obstruct a lawful arrest operation at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Authorities say the officers facilitated unauthorised access to restricted airport areas during the incident that followed El-Rufai’s return from Cairo last month.
