NiMet forecasts thunderstorms, moderate rainfall across parts of northern Nigeria

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has forecast isolated thunderstorms and moderate rainfall across parts of northern Nigeria on Monday, October 5.

NiMet’s weather outlook, issued on October 4 and valid from October 5 to October 7, says thunderstorms with moderate rainfall are expected over parts of Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna, Gombe, Zamfara, Kebbi, Bauchi, Kano, Borno, Adamawa and Taraba during the afternoon and evening.

The agency also forecasts slight dust haze over northern parts of Borno and Yobe, while other parts of the northern region are expected to experience partly cloudy conditions earlier in the day.

Forecast, not an incident

The outlook is a weather forecast.

It does not establish that flooding, storm damage, casualties or transport disruption have occurred in any of the listed states.

Any such impact would require separate verification before being reported as an incident.

For residents and motorists, the bulletin is primarily a planning and precautionary alert for changing weather conditions during the forecast period.
