Teni Vows to “Save 2Face” Amid Alarming Marriage Crisis With Edo Lawmaker Natasha

Amid growing national concern for Afrobeats legend Innocent “2Face” Idibia, singer Teniola Apata has vowed to intervene personally, declaring she and other artistes will “go and save” the music icon from the escalating turmoil in his marriage to Edo State lawmaker Natasha Osawaru. The promise comes after a week of viral confrontations, family petitions and intense public anxiety over the singer’s well-being.

In a video shared on her Instagram page, Teni called on fellow artistes Kcee and Timaya to join her in supporting 2Face, following disturbing reports from both his family and former manager that he may be enduring emotional and financial strain in the marriage. “2Face my legend, we’re coming to save you,” she said, urging immediate intervention as the crisis deepens.

The marriage drama exploded into public view after a tense Instagram Live session hosted by broadcaster Daddy Freeze, where 2Face and Natasha were seen exchanging heated words. Days later, 2Face posted — and later denied — a cryptic “Help me” message on Instagram, prompting widespread panic among fans.

The situation escalated further when the singer’s family petitioned the Inspector General of Police, accusing Natasha of physical assault, seizing 2Face’s passport, controlling his finances and causing emotional harm. The petition also requested an investigation into alleged bigamy and misrepresentation. The family said the singer had suffered “reputational damage and financial loss.”

Meanwhile, 2Face’s brother Hyacinth publicly pleaded for intervention, saying the singer had “been suffering for too long,” deepening fears that the situation may be more severe than perceived.

Teni’s involvement marks a turning point in the crisis, transforming what began as a personal dispute into a wider industry concern. For many Nigerians, 2Face is not just an artiste but a cultural pillar — and any sign of distress around him triggers collective emotional alarm.

The Edo State House of Assembly has also summoned Natasha to appear before its Ethics and Privileges Committee in response to the controversies.

As social media debates intensify, industry insiders warn that the mental health of one of Nigeria’s most influential musicians must now take precedence over sensational commentary.
